FenGotchi is a game about keeping a little slime alive. You must use your powers to make it rain to give him water, make the sun come out to grow his food and make an intense lightning storm to keep him happy. Neglect any of these and slimey will take drastic action!
FenGotchi was a project created for the 12 hour University of Plymouth (or PUC) Jam with the theme of ‘unusual mechanics’. Me and my teammate Connor's original concept was a puzzle game where puzzles could be solved by altering the weather, until he said those fateful words: “Jacob, do you know what a Tamagotchi is?” From then, the concept turned to an island survival for a little slime character, where his food, water and electricity was affected by the player altering the weather e.g. a lighting storm would not grow any food or give any water, but would generate electricity, which in turn he could use to watch TV and increase his happiness.
My role in this was the modelling, UI design, character design and concept designer.
